Saltwater fishing clinics at Washington Oaks

The annual adult saltwater fishing clinics, sponsored by the Friends of Washington Oaks, begin July 6, 9 a.m. to noon, at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast. Fishing workshops for children ages 8 to 17 will be held  Fridays, July 7, 14, 21 or 28.

These hands-on workshops teach techniques for catching fish, as well as the importance of conservation and safety. Identify different saltwater fish species commonly caught locally, as well as receive training on how to use a fishing rod and reel, while fishing along the bank of the Intracoastal Waterway. All fishing gear will be provided for each participant to use during

the workshop, including complete rod, reel, fishing tackle and bait.
